Shanghai Mansion Bangkok Hotel

The breakfast was a favorite, with an impressive range of fresh, tasty choices each morning. We stayed six nights in a deluxe room and felt at home. It was spacious, nicely arranged, spotless, and carefully prepared. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the decor and amenities helped us relax. The hotel felt refined, peaceful, elegant, and well maintained from the moment we arrived. Staff were consistently polite, warm, and ready to help with anything we needed. We enjoyed every moment and are grateful for the team's hospitality. We'd gladly stay again.

The room was spacious and decorated in an old-style Chinese look, and the Shanghai Mansion was ideally placed for exploring Chinatown. In the evenings, Red Rose lounge on the first floor has live jazz, and the staff were friendly. My husband and I really enjoyed staying here. The room got warm and the AC wasn't very powerful, and there was a strong sewage smell in the restroom area.

Paula, the manager, helped us a lot when we explained that our first room was too small and not comfortable for us. Even with a busy schedule, she worked to find a good solution, and we ended up in a great room, one of the best, plus a voucher for lobby cocktails. We had a wonderful stay at the Shanhai Mansion Hotel. Many thanks to Paula and the pleasant staff.

The hotel has a great location and a quirky feel, and I'd love to learn more about its history. But we had problems with the AC and mosquitoes, and the rooms in our suites had no exterior windows. We had two rooms. One was freezing, with the AC set below 10C. We reset it, but after every cleaning it was back at the lowest temperature. The other room had no AC at all on the final night of our three-night stay. In fact, most of the hotel seemed to have no AC, though the first room stayed cold as a refrigerator.
