The common space was calm and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely warm. I loved the place. The room itself is very basic, but it was the cheapest air-conditioned option I found nearby after walking around and checking for a couple of hours. You're close to the train station, subway, and great Chinatown food, while the neighborhood stays quiet. Nearby guesthouses look nicer in their ads but cost a lot more.

The whole area seems to have been demolished, so this may be a redevelopment project. When I went yesterday, the building was gone and the site looked abandoned. I wonder if they're planning to renovate it. I hope it reopens.
