Simply Sleep Hostel

A cozy lobby made it easy to unwind in the evening with a cup of tea and watch the city. My room was clean, and the staff were kind and very hospitable. The location is handy too, near the metro, a cafe, shops, and a laundry. Thanks for a wonderful stay. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Bangkok.

There’s a 7-11 across the road, a laundromat almost next door, and a shared kitchen with a large fridge, which is very useful in Bangkok’s heat. The owners are lovely, always smiling and ready to help, and the place is clean with everything you need. Simply Sleep Hostel feels more like a boutique hotel than a usual hostel. Vegetarian food nearby is quite limited unless you’re willing to walk a long way in the hot sun. It also isn’t the place to choose if you want lots of common areas and a social hostel scene.

I wouldn’t recommend checking in here in the evening. Staff aren’t available after 7 p.m., and I had trouble with my room’s AC remote. An employee swapped it with the one from another room, leaving the broken remote there, then left. The replacement didn’t work either because its batteries were bad. Luckily I carry my own, since I run into this problem all over SE Asia. If you arrive before 7 p.m., this place might suit you. For an evening check-in, I wouldn’t recommend it. 2.5 out of 5.

The hostel is in a pretty quiet area, which was nice for getting some sleep after exploring the city. MBK Center is about a 25-minute walk away. The staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in and checkout were quick and easy. My room was clean, and the kitchen had free tea and coffee. A cozy, clean place to stay in Bangkok.
