Thaisun Bangkok Hotel

I booked three nights, then another three after New Year, but once I saw the room I cancelled the later booking and found somewhere else. The photos made it look clean, but honestly, I wasn’t comfortable there. The shower room especially seemed unclean. Water pressure was very weak, and the sheets looked dusty, so the bed didn’t feel clean either. I hope they improve things.

The lobby looks luxurious, but the rooms smelled of cigarettes and weren’t very nice. There were no smoking signs everywhere, yet the smell got into all our clothes. It felt a bit misleading. Still, for the price we managed to get through the night. It’s okay for a one-night stopover, and there’s a lovely food market across the bridge.

It’s a quiet neighborhood with hardly any nightlife nearby. There are a few restaurants close to the hotel, including a pub and Starbucks, and the BTS station is a ten-minute walk away. Take the BTS and it’s only five stops to the main shopping malls. The rooms aren’t small, and they don’t feel old.

Booked two nights through TRIP.com at a good price. The room was roomy and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower room was large. The BTS station is nearby, and there’s an Irish pub next door for food and drinks. The pool was a letdown, though, since it’s very shallow.
