Siam Palace Hotel

I used to choose this hotel whenever I needed a room before a train, but I won't be back. At 7 pm, flying insects swarmed around the lights, and after I killed them I found hundreds of ants covering the floor and walls. At the front desk, they told me to switch off the lights to fix it, which wasn't much help at night, and said they'd sweep up the ants. After seeing the problem, they asked us to wait downstairs while they fumigated the room, then return when it was safe. I was worried about the room after fumigation, so they moved us. The new room had an industrial extractor fan right outside the window running all night, and cockroaches all over the room.

We stayed at Siam Palace Hotel on the night of the 25th, and my wife and I really enjoyed it. It's close to town but away from traffic hassles, with food courts and restaurants within easy reach. The service was excellent, and the staff made us feel welcome. A lovely place for a couple's stay or a business trip.

If you want somewhere safe and quiet to rest, this could be a good choice. Siam Palace Hotel is on a very quiet street in Bangkok, just a few meters from the main road. Access is easy, and the staff are good.

It's a little far from the city, though train lines are within a moderate walk and there are some quite good restaurants nearby. The hotel was very clean, and check-in was excellent. The staff were friendly and really helpful.
