The room was really spacious. The hotel is old, but it has a homey feel, and the staff are warm and friendly.

The pool is a good size, and the hotel is close to the BTS sky-train, which made it easy for my wife and me to get around Bangkok while backpacking. Our room was clean and spacious, the price was good, and breakfast was good too. The staff were very helpful during our stay. I’d definitely recommend the place.

It’s a bit outside downtown, but getting around is still convenient since the hotel is near BTS station Saphan Kwai. Or Tor Kor market nearby is a must-see. The room was very spacious for a fair price, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Free continental breakfast was simple but decent.

My family stayed here for a few months in mid-1969, when we first arrived in bangkok, and again in mid-1971 as we prepared to leave. My dad was a Lt Colonel with JUSMAG-THAI, Joint US Military Advisory Group to Thailand. The hotel served the Air Force in the 60s and into the 70s, with secure offices and transitional family housing. You can still notice the guard shack and barrier gate arm as you first pull in. I was 16 then, and it felt very safe. There were lots of places to eat and shop just outside the guard shack on Pahonyothin rd. We kids had dances on the rooftop on weekends, and lots of pinball machines on the first floor. I still remember my first kiss at one of those Friday night dances under the moon-lit skies, listening to Beatles songs and Rickie Nelson singing Garden Party. So many awesome memories.
