The Capital Sukhumvit 30/1

I lived at The Capital Sukhumvit 30/1 for over three months, and the problems made it hard to recommend as a safe, comfortable place to live. Management was slow or unresponsive despite repeated requests for repairs and solutions. There were incorrect details in the contract that caused trouble with immigration registration, and poor dust control during construction led to high air pollution inside, affecting my health and my pets. Staff entered my apartment without notice while I was sleeping or undressed. Construction noise caused ear pain and a hospital visit, and a damaged support pillar outside made the whole unit shake, affecting my sleep and wellbeing. The promised pool and sauna weren’t available during my stay. Cockroaches kept appearing inside the unit, including in the kitchen and refrigerator, despite multiple complaints. The apartment also hadn’t been professionally cleaned before move-in, so I had to do extensive cleaning myself.

Our employees and their pets were able to feel at home during their time in Bangkok, and we’re grateful for that. We relocate expat employees often, and suitable pet-friendly accommodation can be hard to find. Capital Serviced Apartments made bringing pets easy, which was a huge relief for us. The apartments were spacious, well maintained and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable pet bedding and designated play areas. The convenient, lively Bangkok location gave our employees easy access to attractions, parks and pet-friendly places, making the move to a new country smoother for both people and pets. From our first contact, the staff were warm and professional, understood our situation, and answered our concerns. On arrival, they welcomed the employees and their pets with genuine friendliness. The whole experience exceeded our expectations, and the pet-friendly policy and welcoming staff really set Capital Serviced Apartments apart. We wholeheartedly give it five stars and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone wanting a place that makes them and their pets feel part of the family.

The executive two-bedroom option is spacious, with two king beds. I was initially given a smaller standard two-bedroom with one king and one single bed, though they corrected it the next day after I complained, and that shouldn’t have happened. The air conditioning was too noisy for easy sleeping. Water pressure was unstable, and one shower had no hot water while the other had no cold water. It’s about 3.5 km from the CBD, shopping and Nana Plaza, so the location is far from the action. Decent experience overall, 5/10.

The spa and pool were nice, but the hot tub was dirty and broken. We had to change rooms because the tub and shower leaked in the first one, and one day they entered our room despite the do not disturb sign. Every morning we woke up with bites somewhere on us. The cab called by the front desk turned into a nightmare. After the first toll, the driver pulled over on the freeway, shouted in Thai, which we couldn’t understand, and accused us of taking his money, based on the few English words we could make out. He wouldn’t take us on to the airport, and we couldn’t get out of the car. Once he finally drove us there, he refused to hand over our bags. I asked a security guard for help, but he waved me away and spoke with the driver. When I said I’d get the police, the driver gave us our bags. We’re now sitting at the airport police station, so I think it’s safe to say we won’t stay here again.
