The Cube Hostel Silom

This is my fifth stay here, and I love the place. It's quiet, and I can relax in the garden. The hostel is right by the skytrain and near bars, restaurants, and a nice morning market. The staff are always friendly and help with anything. Rooms are clean, with a cozy pillow and blanket on each bed, plus a free towel. There are clean toilets and showers on every floor. You can also use the washing machine for 30 Baht.

The shared spaces are tidy and comfortable, and the little communal kitchen is easy to use. You can buy drinks and noodles there. Rooms feel cozy, the bathrooms are very clean, and the staff are super nice. It's a hidden gem in the heart of Bangkok, conveniently close to the MRT and Skytrain.

The outside looks a little scary, but it felt safe inside. The staff are good, and they offer free breakfast, though I wasn't able to try it. They didn't ask for a deposit. I wish there were more lights, especially at night.

I had a terrible time trying to check in, and nobody at the counter showed much empathy or care. The man with glasses wasn't helpful at all, and seemed more interested in finishing work than helping me contact Agoda. The woman at the counter wasn't helpful either. When I left, he just walked out of the hostel and got on with his day. The way they treated me over a booking problem was completely unacceptable, and this place made no effort to welcome or assist me. I originally booked through Google Maps using my email on Agoda, then found out the booking at Silom Space Hostel had somehow changed to a women's room because of an Agoda technical issue. They were fully booked, but helped me search for another hostel and get in touch with this one. I came over and booked through Google Maps the same way, making sure to choose a unisex room. Somehow it became a women's room again, and they were fully booked too, so I had to find somewhere else. They had promised not to charge me, and when I contacted Agoda, they said they wouldn't charge me. Silom Space agreed to refund me and had helped a lot with finding other places and making calls. This hostel, though, refused to refund me after I contacted Agoda. Don't stay here if you want to avoid this kind of awful experience ruining your trip.
