The Ecotel Bangkok

I spent four days here and had a very positive experience. The staff and hotel crew were polite, professional, and extremely helpful. Thai hospitality felt warm, respectful, and consistently welcoming. The cleaning lady who came to our room each day deserves a special mention. She greeted us with a smile and kept everything spotless. I’ve noticed that some low rated reviews seem to come from the same group or country of guests, and in my view their complaints may reflect expectations that rules should be bent in shared spaces. The buffet has signs saying not to eat while sitting and not to take food outside that area. At one breakfast I personally saw disruptive behavior that was unpleasant for other guests. There was also a notice in the common washroom saying showers are absolutely not allowed, which suggests those shared facilities have been misused by certain group or country people. I don’t think these things reflect badly on the hotel. The staff clearly work hard to maintain standards despite the challenges. I’d gladly stay again on my next visit to Bangkok. If you’re respectful and considerate, the issues in some reviews shouldn’t affect your stay. The hotel and its people deserve appreciation.

The Indian breakfast was good, and having Indian restaurants nearby plus a close 7-Eleven was convenient. Beyond those points, I didn’t find this good value for money, especially for Indian travelers. The location is just okay, the rooms are very small and don’t suit families or people with luggage, and the many rules and fines listed in a file in the room make the stay feel restrictive. We also felt Indian guests were treated with unnecessary suspicion. We left early for Safari World with a Do Not Disturb tag on the door so housekeeping wouldn’t come in. When we returned late at night and asked for that day’s two complimentary bottles of water, staff first refused. They only handed them over after a long, uncomfortable discussion, which left a poor impression. The advance security deposit is INR 5,000 or 2,000 THB, quite a lot, and should be made clear before booking. With the small rooms, staff behavior, and strict policies, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. Rating: 2.5/5.

They let me check in early, which was a big help after my trip. My room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, and the location was good. Great value for money at Ecotel Bangkok.

The rooms were well equipped and had lockers, and the complimentary breakfast was a nice extra. It was peak season, so helper service wasn’t available and we had to carry our own baggage.
