The Fusion Suites

The hot water stopped working on my last day. Still, the location is great, with loads of restaurants nearby, a morning market across the street by 7E, the BTS just a stone's throw away, and, best of all, Terminal 21. I also killed a roach that was only trying to feed itself. Its exoskeleton color made me assume it was alive, so I could sleep, which I'm ashamed to admit.

We really liked our stay, though this may not suit a picky guest. The bed was lovely, with soft pillows, and the bed and linens even smelled like a 5-star hotel. The room had a smart TV and cold aircon, too. Bring your own shampoo and body wash, since the provided ones are a bit below standard. And if you need a full-length mirror or flat iron, this place may not be for you.

I enjoyed staying here, and it's a fun place for a short visit. The furniture gives you a bit of a look at how things used to be, and the rooms are nice and clean, though dimly lit. I was given an upgrade to a jacuzzi room, which was good of them, but the hot water was only warm at best. The outdoor seating area by the main doors is pleasant in the evening, but there's a steep slope up to it. I use a walking stick, so it was quite a challenge, especially without anyone around to help, and reversing back down was just as difficult. The bathroom and toilet are separated from the bedroom by a large glass wall, so you can see everything from either side. Fine if you're alone, perhaps awkward if you're shy. The reception floor is flat, but its 3D pattern kept making me think there were steps or uneven patches. I never got used to it.

The good price and location worked for me since I was out from morning till night and wasn't staying in the hotel all day. Both the MRT and BTS are only about 5 minutes away. The room had a weird, old-fashioned look, and I didn't find it clean. The yellow lighting was so strong I couldn't even finish my makeup properly. I didn't take photos because the room wasn't really pretty.
