The Mark Hotel

The building has a serious cockroach problem, and the elevator has no air conditioning. Delivery is another issue: The Mark Condo staff reject packages, so don’t count on getting online orders here. Most residents are foreigners, but the staff don’t speak English. I’m living here now, and getting room problems fixed took about a month and a half. The agent and condo representative wouldn’t let us contact the owner, which felt kinda fishy. The agent then left us hanging, and the representative and juristic staff were so rude. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The building itself is quite good. If you’re looking to buy or rent here, though, be careful: Lazudi is involved in a lot of shady stuff. Find out who you’re dealing with beforehand.

The condos are a good size, especially compared with the shoebox apartments they’re building in Hong Kong now. It’s also within walking distance of the Airport Rail Link and metro stations. Owning here has been a nightmare because of the Juristic Office staff. They don’t reliably send the annual common maintenance bill, even when you email them in Thai, but they’ll still add late fees for bills you never received. When they change their email address, they don’t tell owners either. It’s hard to believe owners pay for service this poor.

The pool is lovely, with a city view, and an east-facing unit gets a luxurious green outlook. The area is relatively quiet, though the building is a little away from the Asoke-Ratchada junction. The walk to the condo is narrow, but using the back gate, it takes 7 to 10 minutes to reach the MRT. The security is very strict and entry requires fingerprints. It’s only a few minutes by car to the stock exchange and other CBD offices.
