The Prestige Nana

If you need a fairly affordable Bangkok hotel, this one does the job. The rooms are dated and nothing special, but they were enough for what I needed during my stay.

They put me in the wrong room, and the lighting was really bad. The pictures on the agoda listing were completely different from what I got, and it promised a street view. When I asked for help, the receptionist was rude and told me to contact agoda.

The room itself was okay, and the bed was comfortable, but the AC was so loud it made sleeping difficult. I booked five nights and left after two. Fortunately, I got a refund for the rest, though even two nights had been too much. For me, the location was overwhelming. It's in an Arab neighbourhood, and as a white person I felt outnumbered. Over two days, two young Arab men scammed me twice. I felt the area wasn't safe, especially for solo travelers, and wouldn't recommend it to a woman traveling alone. It felt seedy, and I don't recommend this hotel.

I made the reservation through booking and expected to pay at the property in cash, with my Visa only as the guarantee. They demanded payment in advance by Visa and said they'd cancel if I didn't pay that way. I'd never had that happen before and was really upset. The room was tiny, the AC was loud, and I found a strange worm on the bathroom floor. Smoking was supposedly banned inside the rooms, but the smell of weed was all over the floors. Outside, street noise and music came through the windows and made it hard to sleep. I regret staying there. It wasn't worth the money at all. Luckily, Bangkok has plenty to do, so I could forget about this ridiculous hotel for a while. My first and last stay, and I don't recommend it.
