The Richy Place Guest House

The staff were so cheerful and kind. After checkout, I wanted to go sightseeing, and they offered to keep my bag. When I returned, they'd written my name on it and left a note saying it belonged to me and that I'd be back to pick it up at 8 o'clock. That kind of care really impressed me. It's affordable for such a convenient city location, right beside a market and 7-Eleven, though the entrance can be hard to find. Searching for the nearby 7-Eleven on Google Maps first makes getting there easier. The atmosphere and convenience make this a place I'd happily recommend.

A great spot if you're shopping. Affordable fashion is right downstairs, the night market is only steps away, and 7-Eleven and McDonald's are around the corner. You can walk to Tofu Skincare, 100 Baht Shop, Big C, CentralWorld and Platinum Fashion Mall. BTS Ratchathewi and Airport Rail Link Ratchaprarop are walkable too.

For the reasonable price, the room size was fine, and my bathroom was big. The room isn't soundproof, so you hear everything outside, though luckily people were trying to keep quiet. Lots of Indonesian sellers stay here because it's in the middle of the market. I didn't find cockroaches or the smell mentioned in an earlier review. Book at your own risk 😅

To find it, follow Google Maps into the little shop lanes and look for the sign. The hotel is above the shops, so you won't see the lobby until you reach level two. My PA recommended staying near Platinum Fashion Mall, so I booked this hotel to give it a try. The room is basic but clean and cozy. The bed was a little hard, and I could hear “noises” from neighboring rooms at night, which I found exciting 🤣. A good budget room if you just need somewhere to rest and wash up.
