The Sukhothai Bangkok

The spa felt like a peaceful escape from the city, with a beautifully designed space that was calm and well organized. I came for a massage with my mother, and we both found the therapists professional and caring. Sara and Por took time to understand what we wanted, paid close attention to pressure and technique, and made sure we were comfortable throughout. It felt like a full wellness experience, not just a massage, and one of the best spa visits we've had in Bangkok. Many thanks to Sara and Por. Breakfast was a standout, easily the best we've had in Bangkok, with a huge spread of Thai, Japanese, and Western food, fresh juices, and eggs cooked to order. The evening Club Lounge buffets changed theme each night, including Italian, Indian, and Chinese, and each was excellent. There was a strong choice of wines, cocktails, and mocktails. Executive Chef Joachim Textor deserves a mention for being both talented and engaging. The grounds and pool have a calm, oasis-like feel, with efficient service by the pool and little touches like orange infused water kept topped up. We also had a look at the Spa and Gym, which both seemed first class. Our Club Room was spacious, quiet, and well equipped. Wooden shutters kept out the morning light, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the large bathroom had excellent amenities refreshed each day. We spent three nights here recently, our first return since July 2019, and checked in at the Club Lounge. The check-in was smooth and relaxed, the welcome drink delicious, and the staff genuinely warm and attentive, just as we'd remembered. We used to stay at the Mandarin Oriental, often called the best in Thailand, but we now prefer The Sukhothai. Its peaceful atmosphere, consistently high service, and excellent food and drinks have made it our favorite luxury hotel anywhere.

The breakfast buffet was a feast, and every detail and the warm service made the whole experience feel worthy of a 2-star Michelin rating. Thanks to everyone for a memory I'll never forget. I'll definitely stay again! ❤️

The breakfast had a fantastic range of Western and Asian food, and my room was peaceful and comfortable, with a garden view. I'm a light sleeper, so the thicker walls mattered a lot. Thank you, Sukhothai, for making the stay so comfortable. I was in Bangkok around a wedding in December 2025 and had a great stay. The hotel went above and beyond, helping arrange transport to the venue and with other things too. I had trouble with the in-room safe because I was using it incorrectly, not because it was faulty. Staff were sweet and patient while helping me reset it. I'll stay again next time I'm in Bangkok. The nearest station is a metro stop rather than BTS, though it's easy to connect. It's about an eight-minute walk, or an easy bike taxi ride. Traffic on the nearby road can be bad, as it is in Bangkok. Getting a regular taxi through Grab or Bolt was a little trickier, but if you know your plans, the hotel will happily arrange one at a similar or better rate than the apps. I did that to make sure I'd reach the wedding venue on time Friday, one of the worst days for traffic. A separate note on the chocolate buffet: it was huge, with more food than anyone could manage. There was a savory spread with turkey and small bites, plus a sushi chef cutting fresh sashimi. The sweets included pastries, macarons, and some truffles. Christmas decorations and themed desserts made it festive, and the food was fantastic. I expected more of a chocolate tasting buffet, though, and was disappointed that the only chocolate options were mixed into hot chocolate or cold mousse. I should admit I hadn't read the details, so that expectation was probably my mistake.
