The stairs were a real workout after a day walking 20,000 steps around Bangkok, and the rooms are cozy, meaning small. There’s no elevator, and light sleepers might hear the city or people in the hallway now and then. Still, the air conditioning was a lifesaver, and the compact private bathroom was clean and worked fine. Getting around was easy. Phaya Thai Station, with both the BTS and Airport Rail Link, is just a four-minute walk away, and Siam’s shopping area is only two stops from there. The place is set back from the main road, so it’s quieter, and I didn’t have to deal with taxis or buses with my luggage after the flight. The people made the stay for me. The staff were quietly kind, and the receptionist’s quick, no-fuss check-in was exactly right when I arrived tired and overwhelmed. They also made a late arrival possible with a self-check-in box. The shoes-off setup gave it more of a private-home feel than a sterile hotel. Yaksa Private isn’t a luxury resort, but it has warmth and makes a trip less stressful. I’d go back for the location, value, and welcoming atmosphere, as a solo traveler or with a partner. I left feeling like I’d found a little secret spot in the city. Next time, I’ll bring a lighter suitcase.

I booked for one night, and getting to and from the airport was convenient. The rooms were nice and mostly clean. There’s a shared area at the entrance and a beautiful terrace. Most guests seemed to be students or people staying longer. For a guest like me, some basic services were missing.

The mattress was really soft and the staff were friendly, but this place was far too noisy for me. I was on the fifth floor, and there’s no lift. The blanket was tiny, there’s no fridge in the room, and it felt like trying to sleep in the middle of a road. Unless you need this location as badly as I did, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The place is in a safe area, and you pass security before entering the building. I stayed five nights on the fourth floor, though there’s no lift. Phaya Thai is the closest station, and there’s also a bus stop nearby. It was a great stay, and a good place to stay in Bangkok.

The room itself was pretty quiet, and our three-person room had its own bathroom. They cleaned daily and left drinking water. The AC was very cold, almost too breezy, and the water warmed up quickly. But the toilet flush button was stiff, and we found a cockroach in the room on our second night. We opened the door hoping it would leave by itself. I don’t know where it came from. The location is handy, close to the BTS, bus stops, and 24-hour 7-11 stores. One snag is that the receptionist is only there until 9 PM. For a later check-in, you need to contact them for instructions to use the self-service lockbox. If you lose your keys after 9, you’re in trouble. You can call and hope they answer, but for me it was about a 50:50 chance. I’m not sure I’d stay again, though it wasn’t a terrible experience. 7.5/10.
