New Cathay Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)

The location was good, but parking was very limited. The hotel lot was full, so I had to park somewhere else away from it. My room was clean, but the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned, with black mold all over the wall and bathtub. The TV only had one channel, and WiFi was free but the connection was bad. There was no kettle, though they did provide free mineral water. For what I paid, it wasn’t worth it.

The rooms were clean, but we found ants on the bed and floor. When I mentioned it at checkout, the front desk staff scolded me for waiting until then to say something. The staff’s behavior was completely unacceptable. One of them seemed to sleep on the job at all hours. We were a little late checking out, and he shouted rudely at us from a distance as if we were in a wet market. The front desk staff were rude and stuck-up.

The location was very good, and I found the bed comfortable. The hotel is old, but the toilet was clean. Service was good for a three-star hotel.

For 590 THB, I had a single room with a queen bed, and you can pay by card. The counter doesn’t show the prices, so you may need to ask the staff. People there generally speak Malay, Chinese, and Thai. It’s an older hotel, but my room was clean and spacious. The location was quite good, and there’s an elevator. The shower head is fixed to the wall, and the TV only had a few channels, all in Thai.
