Radisson Resort & Spa Hua Hin

The hotel was quiet and felt a little empty while we were there. We liked the pool, breakfast was very good, and the parking area is large. The property seems dated, though, and the rooms are worn. We spotted dust beneath the TV cabinet when we sat in the chair. The ceiling shower barely dripped and only gave hot water, whatever temperature we selected. The sink tap also leaked at its base, so the countertop stayed wet. At checkout, after paying for bar drinks and laundry with my PIN and getting approval, the receptionist set my card on the table with the CVV side up and photographed it on her personal phone. That felt completely inappropriate. She gave no clear reason when I asked. I had to block the card afterwards for security.

The sea breeze and fresh air were lovely, and the hotel has a beautiful pool by the sea, a good park, a pool bar and a restaurant. It’s an old hotel, though, with old-style rooms. The bed was soft and the bedding clean, and daily cleaning was fine. Power sometimes went out, leaving no electricity and no lift or way to charge devices. Staff gave no explanation, which was strange. The food is expensive, and the restaurant menu feels very old-fashioned, with pizza available every day and not enough vegetarian choices. The breakfast was fine, with fruit, cheese, coffee and a few nice Indian vegetarian dishes. The village nearby is small, so dogs and chickens can be very loud. There’s a kids’ club, and the friendly staff play with the children. The girl selling ice cream never smiled at customers, maybe she was tired of working there. Staff often struggled with English, though some used a translation app to communicate better. If you want to relax around Cha-am or Hua Hin, the seaside location can work, as long as you don’t expect too much from a 4**** Radisson resort.

Breakfast was fantastic, with loads of choice and great quality, and the lobby was lovely with helpful staff. The pool has different depths, good loungers and umbrellas, and the towel service was good. It needs a shaded spot for the children’s pool and clearer signs for the steps and deeper water. Around the pool, small bits of gravel are coming loose and stick to your feet, and the surface is uneven. The rooms are dated and need an upgrade, especially the bathrooms. Air conditioning was good, but housekeeping only changed the sheets after I stripped the bed. The gym was a letdown, just a small room with one treadmill and a few old machines. The exercise balls were grimy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. The lifts worked efficiently but were warm and needed cleaning. The stairway between floors looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in the hotel’s fourteen years. Paint was peeling in places along the room corridors, and the room doors needed replacing. Internet was often weak and sometimes completely unavailable.

Radisson Hua Hin has lots of open space, big rooms, a great pool, and a beachfront setting. Check-in took a while, and the male front desk staff didn’t provide very good service. The rooms also felt a bit dated. A refresh and better front desk service would make it perfect. The rest was good! 🌊🏊‍♀️
