Baan Suan Iyara

The pool was unbelievably dirty. I also saw people swimming there who seemed to be from outside the hotel, without staying here. After I swam, I got back to my room and there was no water, so I sat around feeling sticky while I waited for it to recharge. Ugh, and I'd read the reviews first! The Wi-Fi was awful, and the air conditioner barely cooled. Around 1-2 AM it made a loud whining sound, almost like a puppy barking for my entertainment.

The staff were polite, and the room has a garden view, but the garden wasn't cleaned at all and the chairs were very dirty. The room itself feels gloomy, is old and not very clean, and the towels are worn out. It really needs a full renovation.

CAUTION, the listed address is wrong! The hotel isn't at the Google Maps address, 99 Moo 8 Talat, Mueang Chanthaburi, Chanthaburi, 22000. Booking websites have the same incorrect address, and I don't know why. There's nothing there but private houses, and nobody seems to have heard of the hotel. The right address is J36H+484 Unnamed Road, Mueang Chanthaburi District, Chanthaburi 22000. Searching for Baan Suan Aiyara on Google Maps should also bring it up. It's in Talat, far west of Chanthaburi. The people there are very friendly, and the booking system worked without any problems. I can't figure out how the address got mixed up, but it definitely needs correcting.

The dogs and cats were adorable and came running to greet guests, and there were some cute geese too. My room was close to the duck coop. It felt natural and was cheap, and the room was worth the price. The place is a little far down the alley, so it's best for people with cars. I recommend it.
