Banchan 9 Homestay

Khun Pong and her husband were such friendly, helpful hosts. The room and its wooden decor were beautifully done, and the breakfast was delicious. We had the fish rice soup and Vietnamese omelet. It's just a short walk to the cathedral and the old town of Chanthaburi. There were lots of mosquitoes, so don't forget to bring repellent. This is Thailand, after all.

We spent four days at this lovely homestay and felt very comfortable there. The house is handmade and decorated with a lot of care. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful, and took time to chat with us. I recommend staying here in Chanthaburi, and I'd come back.

Staying here felt almost meditative. The room is very close to a traditional Thai house, surrounded by nature even though you're right in the middle of bustling Chanthaburi. Phom, the host, is a charming Thai lady who cooks well and is easy to talk with. This is definitely the best hotel I've stayed at in Thailand.

This is a rustic, homely place, so it's not for anyone after standard hotel amenities. Khun Pong was a great hostess and very helpful with tips on what to see, where to eat, and what to buy. The Cathedral and Waterfront Community are nearby.
