Monkiangdao Resort and Homestay

The rooms are quite large and reasonably priced, with comfortable beds, air conditioning, a fan, and a fridge. Towels, soap, and shampoo are supplied. There are lovely views from a few different spots, and the cafe looks nice, though we didn’t get to try it. Our phone data worked, the WiFi was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived without a reservation outside high season, and there were plenty of rooms, including cheaper options than the ones listed through a third-party booking site. I’d recommend booking directly with the hotel.

It was cheap, but I’d stay somewhere else next time. The accommodation was basic, with a hard bed and dirty bathroom, like the standard cheap places in the area. They don’t speak English at all. We may have come in the off season, since we were the only guests, and the place had the feel of an abandoned old campsite. To find it, the entrance is just after the bridge, down the driveway on the right side of the hill.

Some of the best views in Chiangdao, with a great coffee shop and restaurant. The staff were friendly and efficient.

We’ll definitely return in the future. Highly recommend!
