Saming Chiang Dao Guest House

I had a reservation, but no one was at reception, so I couldn’t check in even though the charge had already gone through on my credit card. I waited around three hours outside the unattended front desk. Eventually a woman arrived and took me to another hotel. That hotel had no drinking water or bath towels, and no staff working overnight. I had to shower and dry off with my own T-shirt. It was a terrible experience. At 2 p.m. I sent a LINE message saying I couldn’t check in. There was no reply until 8 p.m., when I was told to return to the hotel and close the front door. This was easily the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

A nice little guest house in a good spot. There’s a 7 Eleven nearby and restaurants just a few steps away. The rooms are small, but the rent is reasonable.

We needed a room at the last minute and got lucky, there was one available. The bed was comfy, the air conditioning was decent, and the location was good. Would recommend.

The rooms were clean, with a lovely mountain view, and the host family made the place feel so welcoming. I stayed for four days and was comfortable the whole time. They were fully booked, so I couldn't extend my stay, though I really wanted to. Handy that they rent scooters too. Great value for the money. Thanks to the team, I'd gladly return!
