Mont Talay Hotel

It’s right on the seafront, and every room has a sea view. Mine was clean and fine, with a fan and cold water only. It cost 390B for one person, though Traveloka was cheaper. The area at the bottom of the staircase is very untidy, with tools, ladders, and broken electrical equipment. Communication was through Google Translate.

We got there after midnight just needing somewhere to rest, and the beach is across the road. There’s a market around the corner, plus an egg breakfast place down the road in front of the city shrine. It was just right for a quick sleep before getting back on the road. The room was pleasant enough for the price, with two beds, towels, a fan, TV, and water bottles for 420 THB. No shampoo or other amenities. There were no air-conditioned rooms left by the time we arrived late, and the place seems to fill up fast. The breeze and overhead fan kept the room cool enough.

The cheapest rooms are on the top floor, with a balcony and an amazing sea view. The sunrise is right in front of your bedroom. The room was clean and had Wi-Fi, and the staff were really nice, helpful, and spoke English. A night market is just by the hotel, and there’s a walking path where you can enjoy the sunset colors over the mountain. There are cycling routes nearby too. Perfect for a weekend!

The view is beautiful, and the location beside the pier is fabulous. The hotel looks scary from outside. I didn’t check inside, just ate outside and enjoyed the view. It looks like a great place for a developer to fix up and make something special. There seem to be quite a few customers coming and going, so maybe it’s not so scary inside after all!
