The location is good, but that was the only positive for me. The hotel feels very old, and the pool was merely okay, quiet, and without much atmosphere. Breakfast was very average and exactly the same every day. One receptionist was rude and never smiled even before the room problems began; two others were sweet and tried to help, but they couldn’t make decisions, which wasn’t their fault. After a few nights, I was told to change rooms even though the hotel wasn’t fully booked. The room they showed me was old and stank of insecticide and paint. I spent more than three hours waiting in the lobby without air conditioning while they said I wouldn’t get another room. Exhausted, I accepted and went to the beach, but the toxic smell kept me awake that night. I went back to the lobby for an hour and saw five rooms, all of which smelled disgusting. After another hour negotiating and calling a really rude manager who was off duty, I was given an upgrade. By that I mean a room that didn’t smell bad. It took 13 hours and major arguments to get a decent room where I wouldn’t cough. I can’t accept a room that smells bad, has brown stains on the sofa, or has a wall deteriorating from humidity. This was honestly the worst hotel experience of my life. If rooms are available, just give guests one where they can sleep in decent conditions. I think the hotel needs a major renovation or should be demolished, to be honest.

The room itself was fine, but my Superior room was a long way from the entrance and the swimming pool, so you have to think twice before heading in or out. The pool I could see from the room belongs to another resort, so I couldn’t use it. There also weren’t enough phone charging points, no intercom for problems, and junior staff could barely speak English. As an international brand, Ramada’s should have had some Indian vegetarian food, but apart from fruit there was nothing for vegetarians. The buffet options were mostly non-veg, and I asked for a plain omelet but they made a dish I hadn’t ordered. I was also asked for a 3000 baht deposit or my passport, which didn’t feel worthwhile, and I haven’t encountered that at hotels in other countries. Many Indians travel to Thailand for holidays, so there should be more international food choices. I stayed at Ramada’s in Bangkok too, and that was good compared with Phuket. I’d choose the next hotel over Ramada’s here. Honest review. Thanks.

The rooms were comfortable, the hotel was clean, and the location was great. Breakfast was the big letdown: we arrived 30 minutes before closing, but everything was empty, the area was dirty, and nothing was being replenished. Some pool tiles were in poor shape and sharp in places. They still ask for a deposit, which feels outdated. I don’t really get all the bad reviews, though. It’s a solid four stars to me, and worth booking if the price is right.

Karon Beach was peaceful and beautiful, and stepping out to it made the stay even better. At Ramada by Wyndham Phuket Southsea, the staff were warm and helpful, the rooms comfortable, and the atmosphere relaxing. Service was excellent throughout. I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend the hotel.

Being right across the road from the beach was the one good thing about this hotel. The property was in very poor condition, with dirty, broken corridors and a badly maintained pool area. Cleanliness and upkeep were nowhere near what I’d expect from a Ramada by Wyndham. Breakfast was the worst part. Its quality, variety, and hygiene were unacceptable, and I’ve had far better meals at 2-star properties. The restaurant staff looked sweaty and unhygienic, and seemed unprofessional. Once I noticed, I felt very uncomfortable taking food from them. In my opinion, the property should close for at least a year for proper renovation and staff training. A hotel using the Wyndham name should meet basic brand standards, and those were completely missing here. I wouldn’t recommend staying until major improvements are made.
