The staff were generally pleasant, the one positive I can honestly point to. We spent two nights here over Christmas, and the price made the disappointment even worse. It’s sold as a premium resort, but felt cheap and badly managed. I stayed in two tents, and both showed how low the standards were. The second tent was somehow worse than the first. I moved in straight after another guest checked out, and when I went to see it, staff were relaxing inside. I asked for housekeeping before moving in, but they said it was ready after about 20 minutes. I really doubt the sheets had even been changed, which made the room uncomfortable from then on. The first tent was meant to be the more premium one, yet there were stains in the toilet, mold in the shower grout, and signs it hadn’t been properly maintained. Some sun damage is understandable outdoors, but bugs starting nests on the tent itself goes beyond glamping and just isn’t acceptable. Getting around at night felt unsafe too. The paths to the tents were uneven and poorly lit, and we had elderly people with us. Each walk back felt like someone could fall. Other people in our group also found frogs in their toilets. That’s poor maintenance, not a charming nature experience. Then we had several water and power outages, despite paying so much for a supposed premium stay. At one point, the water stopped while I was showering with shampoo in my hair. Being left half-soaked in the dark after paying top dollar is ridiculous. This place promises luxury and delivers the opposite. It’s overpriced and poorly run, and nowhere near the standard it claims. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.

We came with an international caravan group that drove from bangkok to The Camp for a Christmas Eve party. The Mookata party was great, the weather was great, and the food was good value. But the glamping tents we used for two nights were far below what we expected. They were moldy and smelly, the toilets didn’t work, and showers flooded. During the hot afternoon the electricity went out, so our aircons stopped working, then a faulty water pump left the tents without water. The owner had insisted we pay in full on the first night, but there was no compensation or even an apology for the awful experience. Our group took up nearly all the tents and some rooms, and the staff seemed a bit short handed. On Christmas morning, the Mookata from the night before hadn’t even been cleared away, with food and dirty cutlery everywhere. First time at The Camp, and probably our last. 😭😭😭😭

We had to cross a rickety bridge to get to our villa unit, and some of the wooden beams were partly broken and needed fixing. Inside, there was nowhere to hang clothes in either the room or wash room, and just one power socket for three of us. The stand fan kept tipping downward and couldn’t be raised higher. In V4, the wash basin leaked badly. We reported it, but it wasn’t fixed properly, so we were moved to another unit. We will never return.

Our two nights in tent 16 started badly. It smelled unpleasant and wasn’t very clean. There was a frog in the toilet bowl and toads were running around the basin. The basin seemed unstable, the bathroom entrance was tiny, and there was no place to hang towels or clothes. The shower didn’t work properly either. The hotel felt poorly maintained and managed, and wasn’t user-friendly. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Everything felt old and poorly maintained, and the camp was dark, dirty, and smelled strongly unpleasant. The bed and pillow were damp and smelly too. I wouldn’t come back.
