The owner was generous with helpful information even before I booked, and the service was great. I liked the clean, cozy feel throughout, from the room to the lobby, which is a lovely place to relax by the river. My room had a river view, and sitting on the balcony looking out was such a nice way to spend time in Chiang Khong. They sell proper coffee drinks at reasonable prices, too. I was impressed that they grow bananas at the hotel. I’d rather have local fruit than toast, though that’s just my preference. If they had local avocado to put on toast, that would be amazing. I wish more hotels in northern Thailand served local produce, since it’s grown here. The place feels well kept and not old. Definitely worth the money.

The balcony is a nice spot for a few drinks, with a view over the river. It’s a quiet place, and the bed was clean. The shower had hot water and good pressure. The main part of town is about a five-minute walk, handy if you need photos taken or need to exchange money for a border run.

The river views and free bananas were lovely, and I liked the place from the moment I saw it. It’s clean and peaceful, so make yourself at home. Four stars because the WiFi signal in the rooms could be better.
