Baan Klang Vieng

The location was the main plus, with restaurants, massage, and shops conveniently nearby. The room was dated but clean, and there were ants along the wall corners. The shower had weak water flow and the hot and warm water came in unpredictable bursts. The bathroom floor was slippery too. Check-in was difficult because there isn't 24/7 reception, so remember they leave at 7PM. The doors also opened and shut loudly, which seemed to be due to poor workmanship. The room was a bit smaller and definitely less bright and modern than the photos suggested, which felt misleading. It's okay for a 1-2 nights stay, but I wouldn't want to stay longer or come back. Our previous 3 start hotel was much better, and there may be better options in the area.

The staff were very nice and kept the place clean. Rooms were comfortable, with good AC, and there was a nice cafe downstairs. It's not a social place, and I wished there were a small sitting area where guests could hang out. The location is nice, close to places to eat, and I always felt safe around there. People can walk straight into the hostel, though, and there's no 24 hour reception, so keep that in mind if it's a concern. Great value, and I'd stay again.

The hotel is near interesting places around the city, and we could walk to everything we needed. Our room was large and very clean, and there were restaurants and cafes close by for breakfast or dinner. It felt like a homely place to stay.

A good price for this location, and the place is well maintained with quality bedding and towels. If the host isn't at the desk when you arrive, having data or a Thai number to call them would help.
