Chiangmai Inn

Really suggest this hostel. The staff were lovely, and everything was clean, including the bathroom. It’s the beautifuller hostel in chiang mai.

The staff were kind, and the location is great, with the Night Bazaar and center of Chiang Mai within walking distance. We were especially thankful for the help on 15th Nov, during the famous Yi Peng lantern festival. We were meant to go to another hotel, but a mistake left us with nowhere to stay that evening, and everywhere in or near Chiang May was fully booked. One employee found us a room elsewhere, about 30 min from Chiang Mai. As two girls, we were just relieved to have somewhere to sleep. If we come back to Chiang Mai, we’ll definitely stay here again.

The biggest issue for me was the lack of welcome or atmosphere. When we arrived, people sat at the dining table with their backs to us and headphones on, and I couldn’t tell whether they were guests or staff. Only 'Lucky' the dog seemed curious about us. I needed toilet paper but felt awkward interrupting to ask. When I asked about extending, another conversation and laughter carried on before I was told they were full. I’m glad they were, since the next hotel was very friendly. The room and bathroom are spacious and look newly renovated. I liked the foam contour pillows, and there are toiletries, a kettle, and windows that open for fresh air. The location is handy too, down some back streets off the main road, near restaurants, convenience stores, and cafes. There wasn’t a refrigerator in the room, and getting used to the curtain between the bedroom and bathroom took a little time.

The bathroom only has a curtain instead of a door, which is fine alone but could be an issue for two people. The room was small, though the bed was okay and came with two types of pillows 🥹 It’s a cozy, humble budget place in central Chiangmai, with absolutely lovely owners and a dog. The first floor shared space looks cool, with a big desk and lots of chairs, so it’s easy to find somewhere to do work.
