Coucou Hotel

The people at CouCou made this stay feel so welcoming, especially the owner. They were all lovely and gave us really helpful recommendations. If you want a clean, comfortable little boutique hotel in Chiang Mai, I’d happily recommend it. Thanks for making it feel like home.

Those breakfasts were a highlight, much better than we expected. We missed them on two mornings because we were heading out early to explore the rural areas around Chiang Mai. We stayed four nights and really enjoyed it. The room looked lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the location was very convenient. The owner and staff were so friendly and always smiling. I liked stopping at reception to exchange a “Sawadee Ka” each time I passed.

I’m not surprised this place has a 4.9 rating. It’s peaceful and full of greenery inside, and the staff are always smiling, friendly, and very helpful. I’m already missing this hotel and want to come back. I’ve never wanted to live in a hotel before! As a woman traveling solo for the first time, I felt completely safe here, and the place is beautiful. The pool view was lovely, though swimming just twice wasn’t enough. I wish I’d left more time for it. For the lantern festival, I liked being far enough from the main activities that the street stayed fairly quiet at night, while still being only about a 15-20 minute walk to the bridge. It’s also near the edge of old town, which worked well for catching a grab to go outside it. There’s a 7/11 one block away, which came in handy after I got food poisoning in Bangkok. The staff were amazing, some of my favorite people I met in Thailand. My only wish is that the shower got hotter. The water was comfortably warm, but not hot like I’m used to at home. That was fine most days since I’d been overheating outdoors, and I think this may be normal for Thailand. At my previous hotel in Bangkok, the water was extremely cold.
