Funky Monkey Guesthouse & Tours

We had some great days out after David and Nuy booked tours for us, which saved us having to look through all the options around town. They were generous with their time, offering lots of ideas for things to do and places to eat in Chiang Mai, helping us figure out what to do next, and chatting with us in the evenings. The room was one of the best we’ve had on our travels, very large, with a super comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. We’d love to come back to Funky Monkey.

Our host Beat was the best part of the stay. She gave us such a warm welcome and was always looking out for us, helping with any concerns so we could enjoy ChiangMai as much as possible. The guesthouse is near the river, about 10-15 minutes from the Saturday and Sunday Markets. There are plenty of bars and restaurants downstairs, but the music shuts off early so guests can sleep. The room was super big, with a big size bed and an individual one, lots of plugs around the room, and a balcony where we could enjoy the fresh nights. Really good place to stay in ChiangMai.

Just outside the old city, Funky Monkey has plenty of restaurants, cafés and bars within walking distance. The guesthouse has a quaint but lively feel, with spacious rooms and a really chilled atmosphere. The owner and staff are kind and always ready to help with whatever you need. I’d definitely recommend it for a short or long stay.

Beat was an amazing host, and the room was large, clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The place is cute and well located, close to bus stops, a fresh market, restaurants and even 7-11s. We don’t drink and didn’t visit the bars, but liked the atmosphere around the hostels and bars. There was quiet music and people laughing, then things settled down by midnight, so it was never a problem for us at least. I’ll definitely stay here again if I return to Chiang Mai.
