Jeune Hostel Chiang Mai

Cozy, relaxed place, and the bed was very comfortable. I stayed for two days. I’d recommend it for a larger group traveling together, since there are rooms with up to eight beds.

The mattresses were the big drawback. They were so thin and hard that I could feel the metal bunk frame underneath. Otherwise, this was a nice, clean, very quiet hostel and a great budget option. The cleaner was always lovely and friendly. Reception staff weren’t especially friendly or helpful, but it is a budget hostel. The place is basic, with a group kitchen and free water for filling your bottle, which came in handy. The squeaky coffee machine was a little annoying during the day, but it wasn’t a problem at night. For what we paid, it was great.

I’ve been staying here for 12 days. It’s a cozy hostel with fewer people, which suits me. There’s a coffee shop right downstairs, so I don’t have to wonder where to get my morning coffee, and it’s close to almost everywhere. Highly recommended.

They roast their own coffee, and it smelled great, though I didn’t get to try it. The common area is limited, and a lot of it seemed to be taken up by coffee business items. I think they should keep as much of that space clear for guests as possible. Still, I was very happy with my one-night stay and would come back. It’s clean, modern, and conveniently located at the edge of Old Town. This has been the best-value hostel I’ve found in Thailand so far. The bunks squeaked when I climbed to the top, so I had to be careful, and the mattress wasn’t especially comfortable, though I’ve slept on worse.
