Kristi House

We had a catastrophic stay at Kristi House Chiang Mai. The rooms were uncomfortable, the shower barely had any water pressure, and the staff were unpleasant and indifferent, with no response to requests. The Wi-Fi was almost nonexistent and there were power cuts. We were moved to a lower-standard room, where my son had to sleep on the floor on a small mattress. Despite my requests, they refused any commercial gesture, and I had to involve the booking platform before they reacted. They took a 900 baht deposit instead of 300 and never refunded it. When I asked to see the cameras, they refused. On two of the four breakfasts, there was no cocoa powder for the children. This was clearly one of the worst places I’ve stayed. Avoid it, there are many much better hotels in this neighborhood.

We enjoyed staying here in Chiang Mai. The room was spacious, had everything we needed, and the bed was comfy. Its location in the old town and surrounding area is perfect. Nancy was beautiful, and I’d recommend booking your tours through her.

There’s a pleasant outdoor spot out front for watching the world pass by, and the street is quiet in the evening. The hotel is right in the heart of the old city, with consistently great budget prices. Our room was large, the bed comfortable, and there were drawers for storage. They also provided free coffee and fruit, plus night security.

The location was perfect and the rooms were fine for a basic stay. We loved being here, though the Wi-Fi could be faster and we had to watch out for stains on the sheets and towels. After each cleaning, we checked and photographed them to avoid a fine. The toilet also wasn’t cleaned on either of the two days we requested room cleaning. Nothing fancy, but that’s why I’d give it 4/5.
