Lamchang Guesthouse

All the amenities are close by. It's a clean, quiet, private wooden Lanna house with two floors. The owners are Chinese-Thais and live upstairs. There are only single and double rooms, no dorms. You can use the two shower rooms and toilets, which have hot water, and do your own laundry outside if you want. They also sell bananas from their land at an affordable price. In my view, you could come here for years and it wouldn't mean anything to them when it comes to money, a typical characteristic I associate with Chinese people. Only pay if you decide to stay the night, or you'll lose the money.

For 450 baht, we got a double bed plus a single, with no A/C and a shared bathroom. Towels cost 20 per piece and laundry is 40 per kg. The interior was very clean and cozy, with natural cotton bedsheets and a shady spot in the courtyard for lunch. It was very comfortable with children and right in the heart of town. A good impression for that price.

We only rented a motorcycle here and didn’t stay, but everything went smoothly. The woman helping us was really friendly and gave us lots of useful information. Renting felt safe and easy, and they also have nice tours. The guesthouse looked lovely too. I’d happily recommend renting from them.

For 250THB, we had a double room with a huge, slightly hard bed, a table, chair, shelves, and good internet. It’s a quiet, child-friendly place in this area and very cheap. The teak-wood guesthouse feels like the kind you’d find in Chiang Mai about ten years ago, and it hasn’t changed, which we loved. There’s no air con or private bathroom, and guests don’t interact much, even though the outdoor communal area with tables is really nice. Sometimes clean and cheap is all you need.
