Mango Tree Resort

As a solo traveller originally from Australia, I felt warmly welcomed by Nyein, who helped with check-in and luggage, arranged cleaning for my clothes and shoes, and found the umbrella in my room. The spacious room had bottled water, instant tea and coffee, bug spray, an umbrella, a hair dryer, and a hygiene kit with a toothbrush and comb. Breakfast was lovely and healthy, and some items had changed by my second day. I got a good workout in at the gym. I didn't get to swim because it started raining when I was finally free after my tours. It's easy for a Grab or private driver to pick up and drop off here. The staff's hospitality is superb. I'd definitely stay again, and hope to return to chaing mai next year to try more activities.

I spent 26 days here relaxing by the pool and doing my own thing. The apartments are clean, and the place is beautiful and peaceful, about 5 minutes from chiang mai Centre. All the staff are amazing and very friendly. The food is good, though there isn't much in the way of beverages, and the famous 7/11 is just down the rd. I've already booked another 4 nights before heading home. See you all again. Paul

Mango Tree Resort (MTR) was wonderful in every way. A little east of the city, it's a peaceful oasis, yet only 10-15 minutes from what you might need, including the major tour departure spots in the Old City. The service is spectacular, and the kind, sincere, generous staff make it feel like a family away from home. Nyein, Myet, and Ting work around the clock, attending to needs and making sure your visit goes well. All the positive reviews are accurate. I'd recommend it as highly as possible to anyone wanting a truly friendly place to rest and feel at peace on vacation.

The large villa rooms were comfortable, but the location wasn't right for us. It's about 20 minutes each way from the main areas where the city feels lively, so I wouldn't recommend staying here for that reason. I also had an unpleasant experience with staff. I accidentally stained a towel with lipstick and was asked to pay. I've travelled and stayed in hotels for years and have never been charged for something so trivial. I know it was my mistake, but I wish they'd handled it politely instead of bringing it up over and over. They later confirmed they could wash the stain out and wouldn't charge us. There were maintenance problems too: poor shower pressure and a sink that flooded while I was brushing my teeth. We didn't want to disturb housekeeping late at night, so we reported it the next evening. The receptionist made me feel like she thought I was lying. She only came to the room with me after that, and saw the issue herself. They apologized later, but the interaction left a bad impression. I ask management to treat every guest with equal politeness and respect, whatever their nationality. Asian guests should receive the same respect and courtesy as others. We couldn't help feeling that guests from other countries were treated better, and that's not acceptable.
