Pai Residence Hotel

The small room left barely enough space to move or open luggage, and the whole place felt overpriced for what it offered. At Pai Residence, a strong moldy, musty smell hit as soon as I entered. The bathroom was old, worn out, and poorly maintained. I didn't get housekeeping during my stay, even after asking, which is unacceptable even for a budget hotel. Some of the staff were inattentive and unhelpful. I didn't feel welcome, and they brushed off the issues I raised without offering real support. It was far below the standard I expected. I wouldn't recommend it or stay here again.

The location is excellent, right in the center, and I could walk everywhere. The internet in my room worked well. The windows face the common hallway outside the rooms, so with only sunshades you can see everyone passing by. Curtains would be nice too. The bathrooms need some renovation, since showering gets the entire bathroom wet.

We stayed here twice and had a great time both visits, once after booking through airbnb and the second time by just showing up at the door. The staff were brilliant, friendly, and very accommodating. Rooms are simple but do the job, and the pool and smoking area at the front are fairly private from the road. There wasn't much noise. The location was great, with a 7/11 about 5 minutes away.

The staff were very friendly and sent us to a few nearby places to eat, and everything we tried was delicious. But the strong mold smell throughout the place and the damp, heavy air were the main problem. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with asthma. The bathroom was tiny, and water splashed onto the toilet when showering. There weren't enough power sockets in the room either. They should get a dehumidifier and run it nonstop until it gives out. Everything else was cosmetic or just something you have to accept when traveling and experiencing different cultures.
