PARC BOROUGH CITY RESORT

What stood out most was how quiet it was at night. We’d stayed at two other hotels near Chiang Mai city center for convenience, but street noise there stayed extremely loud until after 2:30 am. We regretted not spending our whole Chiang Mai stay at Parc Borough. Among the dozen hotels we booked during our month-long trip, this was one of the best. Our suite had a separate living room and bedroom, a bathroom with a large tub, and a kitchenette. The room was clean and modern, the food was delicious, and the staff were especially friendly and helpful. At $135/night including taxes, we also got two welcome cocktails, a restaurant gift certificate for food and non-alcohol drink that covered a small dinner for two, breakfast, and a shuttle to Chiang Mai airport.

The pool area and rooftop were nice, and the hotel and restaurant had lovely decor. We’d most likely stay here again, it felt worth it. Staff service was great throughout, especially at the front desk. The location worked well for us, with easy access to the old town by Grab or InDrive. Our room was spacious and cozy, with enough room for both my husband and me to work. It came with pillow options, four bottles of water a day, a small fruit platter, and a warm note on the bed. The bathroom was roomy, with a deep tub that was great for a hot soak on chilly November and December nights, and there was a good range of amenities. Both TVs, in the bedroom and living area, worked well. I gave the room four stars because it could use some minor fixes and refurbishment. The bed could be a little bigger and more comfortable, but was still good.

The lobby is beautiful, with a lovely tree outside, and the staff are nice. The location is okay, about a 10-minute walk to Kadmanne market, though you'll need to drive to other popular spots. Having a kitchen was a plus. The suite and cleanliness were disappointing. The bathroom smelled bad whenever it had been closed for a while, whether or not we'd used it. Hard to believe this happens in a 4-star hotel. The sheets were changed every other day, but they always had strange stains. The window didn't block sound well, and a restaurant across the road had noisy live shows every day until midnight. Shower water was unpredictable too, with both temperature and pressure shifting between hot and cold, strong and weak.

The elevator was the fastest I've seen in Chiang Mai. The room was very clean and had a nice view, and service was great. It's in the city but stayed quiet, and the location was good.
