The owner was the highlight of our stay at Past Tense Hostel. She was friendly, spoke good English, and was very helpful. She arranged a private driver for our day trip to Chiang Rai, which turned out to be a wonderful experience, and quickly sorted out a minor room problem when the faucet wasn't working. We're grateful for the time we spent chatting with her and would highly recommend the hostel. We booked a room for two with a private bathroom for the Loy Krathong Festival. The hostel is well located in the city center, with a small, quiet park only a five-minute walk away.

The hostel is in a very good spot in old city of Chiangmai, and it doesn't cost much. I really like its concept. The owner is friendly and lovely to talk with, and it feels like staying at a friend's home. I'd stay here again. 😊

You can settle in downstairs among the beautiful decorations or relax in the rooftop garden. The owner makes you feel right at home, and her food is delicious. She’s also happy to suggest where to go and where to shop, or arrange any field trip you want. A lovely place to visit, unwind with coffee, and read a good book.

Right in the walled city, so the location is very convenient. The owner is lovely and goes out of her way to make you comfortable. There's a nice tea and smoothie shop on the main floor. The room has air conditioning, and the beds are wider than an average twin, with a cozy comforter. The bathroom also has a few extras in case you forget something. I'd definitely come back.

I've stayed here twice already, and it's lovely, just a few minutes' walk from the park. The host makes you feel at home, offering snacks and always being available if you need something or want a suggestion. Coffee, tea, fruit, water, and snacks are always there too. The room and bathroom were perfectly clean, with great attention to detail. Best place to stay in Chiang Mai, and great value for money. Definitely recommend!!
