Potae's House

The north gate location makes it easy to get to the good markets and temples, and there's a nice lobby for hanging out. I felt very safe as a female traveler, and the place is kept really clean. Breakfast is included, and it felt like good value. If you're staying longer, you can talk directly with the owner about a good deal. Much recommended.

I had a great time at this quiet hostel. The beds were comfortable and everything, including the common areas, was cleaned regularly. You can refill your water bottle, and it's all within walking distance. They can arrange lots of tours, and everyone was friendly and helpful. 10/10, one of the best hostels I've stayed in.

Just outside the north gate, this hostel is in a great spot with everything you need nearby. The dorms, beds and bathrooms were very clean, and the bed was comfortable with curtains for privacy. The air conditioning is cold enough, sometimes too cold during the night. It's an easygoing place where you can socialize or just relax. Breakfast has what you need to get going, toast, fruit and spreads.

After just one night, I came back a week later and Potae remembered me, asked how my retreat went, and got me into a bed as soon as possible so I could rest. She's probably the sweetest hostel host I've had. The place is spotless, with large rooms and private cubes, plus free water, tea, coffee and toast. It's centrally located and on the smaller, laid-back side. She's expanding into next door and adding a larger common area. You should absolutely stay here in Chiang Mai!
