Yellow Lamoon Hotel

I spent eight days here and switched rooms twice, but every room had the same problems: mold, stained walls, a bad smell, and very old, worn furniture. Mine was behind reception, where there was no quiet at all. People were shouting, laughing, and talking loudly all day and night. Reception staff had friends visiting, and the noise was so awful I can hardly describe it. Getting any rest was impossible. The bathrooms had a heavy, almost unbearable smell. At night it made me feel like vomiting, and it woke me from sleep. There were hazards too. A nail sticking out of a chair tore my jeans. The 8.8 Agoda rating is misleading in my experience. The photos, description, and score all seemed fake and didn't match the reality. I've visited more than 40 countries and never encountered a hotel in conditions this bad. It's below even the minimum standard for accommodation. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The location is excellent, within walking distance of everything I wanted to see in central Chiang Mai. The staff were friendly, and the rooms are fine for sleeping and resting. But it's a busy, noisy area and you can hear everything. I was unlucky enough to have a room where the water pipes kept waking me up all night.

The noise was awful, loud sounds coming through every 30 to 60 seconds all night. You can hear it in the video. After I spoke with the staff, they moved me to a first floor room, which helped a lot. Other guests I talked to were bothered by the noise too, so if you stay here, maybe avoid the upper floors. The towels and toiletries could use an upgrade, but otherwise the place was okay. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay. It’s such a cute hotel by the river, with comfortable beds. The rooms are a little small, but they worked great for one person.
