Thank You Chiangmai House

I joined one of the tours offered from the lobby, and it ended up being a highlight of my stay. There are lots of tours and activities to book there, and they’re affordable. The staff were friendly and easy to approach, and I thought it was good value for money. I was travelling solo but got a room with three beds, which was a bit weird but okay. The property is conveniently placed in the city. The road in is pretty narrow, though the main road is about a minute’s walk away, unless you’re carrying luggage.

The guest house is close to a market and right beside a laundry, with a pool for guests and a small gym. There’s also a rooftop where you can sit in the sun or hang wet clothes. It’s in a great spot inside the walled city of Chiang Mai, and the room rates are reasonable. The room was comfortable and functional, with space to hang clothes and an in-room refrigerator. The AC worked well, though the bed was a little hard for me. The bathroom mirror is awkward to use because the light is behind your head, leaving your face in shadow. A shelf for toiletries would help too. I’d recommend staying here in Chiang Mai.

The pool was a lovely extra, and taking a dip even on rainy days felt magical. We spent four nights at S.K. House 2 and had a wonderful time. It’s in a quiet part of the Old City, still within walking distance of the main attractions. The rooms and common areas were clean and well kept, with traditional Thai design and calm seating areas. Reception staff were warm and friendly, and helped us book a day tour with an elephant sanctuary, bamboo rafting, and a beautiful waterfall. Great value, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service. We’d definitely come back to Chiang Mai.

I came back to this hotel on a return trip to Chiang Mai, and the friendly staff made us feel at home again. The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds. The lobby is nicely decorated and was a good place to unwind in the evenings before bed. Great location too. I’d happily recommend it and would return if I get the chance.
