Samantan Hotel at Nimman

After one uncomfortable night, I checked out early and wouldn’t stay here again. There was a burning electrical smell in the room and a mouldy smell coming from the bathroom. The switches and lamps were inconvenient to use.

The staff were wonderful and made the stay really good. You’re right in the middle of Nimman, and I can’t imagine finding a better location.

I stayed two nights in late August 2024, on the 2nd floor. The loft-style room was okay, and the door had a traditional lock rather than an automatic one, but the bathroom made the stay awful. It was dark and damp, with a strong musty smell and a shower curtain so mouldy I barely wanted to breathe in there. The water smelled strange too, so I bought bottled water and used that to wash my face. Showering was disgusting. I kept having to hold my breath, left the curtain open, and kept the bathroom door open because I was afraid of breathing in mould. I even brushed my teeth outside the bathroom. It was terrible, beyond words. At 1,000 THB per night, the least I expect is a clean place, even if it isn’t cozy or beautiful. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless the hotel renovates, and I won’t be back. This is only my personal experience and opinion.

Really cool hotel, and I was comfortable here. The rooms were big, clean, and cool. Service was very good. They don’t clean the rooms, but they bring fresh water every day. It’s in Nimman.
