Vila Villa Resort In Town

The sweetest lady runs Vila Villa and treated me like family, often bringing fresh fruit and mango sticky rice right to my room. I stayed just under two weeks and loved it. Although it’s right by the airport, you’d never know: it feels like a little oasis, with a lotus pond, authentic thai housing and beautiful tropical plants. If you’re training at Sit Thailand, the gym is tucked at the back of the same property, only a 20 second walk away. I recommend Vila Villa without hesitation.

If you’re training at the world-renowned Sit-Thailand Muay Thai Gym, which is on the property, this resort is a perfect place to stay. It’s near Chiang Mai Airport and absolutely gorgeous. My room was very clean, and the strong air conditioning cooled it down quickly after a day out in the Sun. The owner is the sweetest lady. She checked on me to see if I was comfortable and brought me fresh fruit in the mornings, even though she didn’t have to. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in Chiang Mai.

The room I wanted was a relaxing, woody Thai-style one with a terrace. I made clear that this was my only reason for booking, and was assured it would be available. Instead, I’m in a damp, concrete disappointment, though they say they upgraded me because it’s bigger. I’m sitting in a concrete slab of a room. I’ll give them a chance to fix it for the second night.
