B2 Chiang Rai Boutique & Budget Hotel

The room was dirty and the air conditioner compressor rattled loudly the whole time. The TV showed “No Signal” and wouldn’t turn off with the remote, so I had to unplug it to get the room dark. The walls were paper-thin, and I could hear everything next door, even their light switches. There was no privacy or quiet sleep. I’ve stayed in plenty of budget hotels, but this was easily my worst experience. I’d strongly suggest staying elsewhere in Chiang Rai. The place felt dirty, noisy and poorly managed, not worth a single baht. I called half an hour before arriving and was quoted 830 THB. When I got there, staff said the price had changed to 860 THB. I mentioned the call, and the receptionist rudely told me, “Just book it online yourself then, maybe you'll get 830.” Completely unprofessional.

You can hear everything in the hallway, and drunk people were shouting and blasting music at 3 AM. The service was awful too, especially the receptionist who was acting busy on the computer. For this price, you can find somewhere better. Not recommended. This might be the biggest dump I’ve ever stayed in.

We stayed one night, then found somewhere else. The room was dusty and dirty, there was no lock on the hotel door, and smoke from the security man smoking outside left our room smelling of it. There was no safe in the room either. The desk staff were very poor, and we couldn’t find anyone from the hotel when we tried to get our concerns sorted.

There’s plenty of parking, and it’s a great budget hotel just down from the clock tower. The only issue was noise between rooms.
