B2 Chiang Rai Phahonyothin Boutique & Budget Hotel

The rooms are reasonably spacious for what you pay, and the staff were friendly. Still, I couldn't get a proper night's sleep because the noise started around 8 in the morning. Staff were dropping things, banging, and talking loudly, and the walls and doors let every sound through. Even a creaking door in the next room made me turn around, thinking someone had opened mine. You can hear neighbors walking and making noise as if they're right beside you. The place looks a bit abandoned and has a haunted feel, too. For a similar price, One Budget is newer and more comfortable.

Room 415 cost ฿860, with a ฿500 deposit. The location is handy if you want bars nearby, and there's a huge car park, though at night there wasn't an available parking spot. The building felt older than the other B2 hotels I've stayed at in other provinces. The bed was hard, and the pillow seemed like it hadn't been replaced in years, with its stuffing all broken up. The bathroom was awful: the sink was poor and the water heater didn't get warm.

Inside, everything was neat and clean, and the room had all the amenities I needed. The air conditioning cooled it nicely. The building's exterior looks a little run-down, and the bed was on the hard side. For the price, though, it was a decent room.

The hotel is comfortable and good overall, and the price seems fair for what you get. Still, it has a history involving ghosts. When I went into the room, I immediately felt something unusual and sensed some kind of energy. I asked people from the area about the stories, and that's how I learned the place's history. If a room has a bad history, I think it shouldn't be offered to other guests and should be closed.
