Lavanda Hotel Chiang Rai

The rooms were clean and pleasant, and the hotel seems either new or well looked after. Breakfast was very good, especially the coffee. A good choice for a trip to Chiang Rai, and I'd recommend it.

We had a pleasant three-night stay, and for the price I can't complain, even though the hotel wasn't as luxurious or well appointed as I'd expected from a boutique place. The room was small but comfortable, staff including pingpong and noon were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was simple but adequate. The grounds could use more upkeep and repairs. The sides of the nice pool were left unimproved and unlandscaped, perhaps intentionally as a wild feature. Some outdoor seating on the lawn by the dining room would also be welcome. There's room to make the place quaint and exclusive. We enjoyed our stay nonetheless.

The Thai breakfast dishes were the highlight for us, deliciously prepared by a chef who clearly knows what they're doing. There were a few Western choices too, like eggs, sausages, and cereal, though the selection was limited. Each morning's breakfast was simple but tasty. We chose Lavanda Hotel on our first trip to Chiang Rai for its modern, clean look, and the room was comfortable for two. The staff were very warm and welcoming. The small pool looked lovely, but we didn't get to use it. The hotel sits in a quiet residential neighborhood. Sometimes a motorbike passed, but it wasn't disruptive. Early morning birdsong was the one small downside, though that's just nature. Grab made it easy to get around, and the nearest 7-Eleven was about a 12-minute walk. The neighborhood felt very safe, and the price was excellent compared with other options nearby. I'd definitely stay again.

Lovely, clean rooms and great service. The location is quite remote, so you'll need a car.
