TANYA Baan Bon Doi

I loved having coffee on the veranda or by the pool at sunrise, looking out over the countryside. TANYA is on a beautiful hillside, with modern buildings that still keep a local feel. The rooms are lovely and have what you'd expect at a high end hotel. It's gated, with free parking. A friend lives here full time, and the rooms can also be rented by the night, which made it easy to stay nearby. It was a great escape from the tourist packed downtown while still less than 10 minutes from anything needed. I hope you get to enjoy it too. I'm already looking forward to coming back.

The rooms are thoughtfully designed and nicely furnished, and it's excellent value. We stayed just one night, but I'd recommend it if you're looking for somewhere to relax in CR. Two small drawbacks: you'll need a car or a Grab/Bolt booking to get around, and the courteous service is less available than at a hotel with a proper reception desk.

Chiang Rai has been my favorite area in Thailand after spending a lot of time around the country, and Tanya's hospitality made this stay stand out even more. She was warm, accommodating, and full of useful insight. The location was fantastic, the rooms were tidy and nicely presented, and the pool, laundry, and wildlife were all a pleasure. You can tell a lot of care went into the details. I'd gladly come back, one of my best stays anywhere.

We ended up staying for a whole month because we liked it so much. The room was spacious and felt almost like a little apartment. Tanya was the best, and the hillside setting was peaceful, with distant mountain views. Even so, town and the mall were only about 10 minutes away. Highly recommend it. Thanks, Tanya!
