The Space Hotel Chiangrai

The room stays quiet even late at night, despite the hotel's proximity to the main road, since it's tucked one street behind it. It's a comfortable, thoughtfully designed place. There are bedside tables on both sides, each with built-in wireless phone charging. Breakfast was tasty, with small changes to the menu each day so it didn't get boring. Even the watermelon was cut with care. I was especially glad to have Northern Thai Nam Prik Ong every morning. I'd definitely stay again.

Space Hotel was a pleasant stay, and its location made it easy to get to food nearby and the night market. The room was clean and well kept, which made it comfortable. Breakfast was fairly ordinary, but acceptable. Good value for the location.

It's a 10-15 minute walk from the heart of the city. The hotel is clean and the staff are very polite, and overall we had a good stay. Breakfast wasn't a great selection, though. The people working in the breakfast area made guests feel awkward. Other guests said the same thing. Whenever someone put food on a plate, staff seemed to keep checking and writing something down or doing something. I don't know what that was about, but it wasn't nice.

Having a price list for things in the room kept me on alert the whole time and took away from being able to relax. Even the door tag had a price on it. Every time we used something, the price came to mind, which isn't a pleasant way to enjoy time away. They seem to have forgotten to price the bathroom items. Otherwise, we'd have been scared to fart while pooing. We've traveled in many countries and never seen this kind of price list at any property. We will never book again.
