Nakhon Ramkhamhaeng

There’s a lot around the hotel: the back exit opens onto a handy water taxi station, a huge local mall, and plenty of local shops and bars. Out front, you’re beside a main strip with restaurants, stores, spas, and major roads leading across Bangkok. It’s centrally located, and the staff were a big help to me and my friends as we found our way around the city. The price was amazing too. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with comfortable rooms, a great fitness center, and a lovely pool and sauna/spa area. There’s also a convenience store inside, plus a dining room and bar in the lobby. I really enjoyed staying here.

The spacious room and bathroom were a real plus, and I slept incredibly well despite the hard beds and pillows. The room was cleaned daily, the sunblocking curtains worked well, and our room had a lovely view on the side of the pool. We arrived before the 3pm reservation time and they didn’t make an issue of it. The building is older, which shows in the rooms, but maintenance is very good. Staff were friendly, and although it’s a bit outside Bangkok, getting there by Grab taxi was easy. There’s a 7 eleven across the street and a beautiful waterway behind the hotel, which you can reach through the breakfast room at the back. There’s also a door there for entering and leaving the hotel. The gym is small, and a lot of the equipment didn’t fit me, but I was glad we could get some exercise and swim afterward. Breakfast changes a bit each day. Since I eat halal, the choice didn’t seem huge to me, but there was enough and it was delicious. It’s a typical Asian breakfast, not European. There’s a tiny restaurant and a tiny shop inside the hotel hallway too. The cleaning lady on the 11th floor was such a precious, friendly woman. You guys have to keep her! We stayed multiple days and really enjoyed it. I took off one star because it’s a little behind for a five-star hotel. After a month travelling in Thailand, though, I’d rate the stay 5/5. It’s hard to find a good hotel in Thailand, and Bangkok has some amazing ones!

The venue looked freshly renovated and clean. Its wooden design details gave the architecture a traditional feel, while the overall look still came across as modern and cool. A lot of well-known guests, especially athletes, had attended the event.

The 2,000 THB fine felt unfair, and it seemed like collecting it mattered more than helping us. I had booked the hotel for my elderly mother, but nobody confirmed the check-out date when we checked in. When we asked about it, the front desk brushed us off and said to check the app ourselves, claiming they couldn't see our information. That poor communication caused the misunderstanding. Very disappointing management.
