Work Den Chiangrai

I had a wonderful four-day stay at Work Den Hotel. My room was quiet, clean, and well equipped, so I was comfortable throughout the trip. Amy at the front desk was especially friendly, helpful, and professional. Her warm welcome made a real difference. Highly recommended!

The rooms were a good size, and the hotel itself was very clean, with good amenities and plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet. The rate is very competitive, and the location is convenient. Noise was the reason I took off a star. Motorbikes racing along the nearby road could be loud in the evening. Hallway sounds also echoed, especially doors closing and people talking. A tour bus group arrived late and talked and laughed loudly into the evening, then again early in the morning. Reception should ask late-arriving groups to keep the noise down. I’d recommend bringing ear plugs.

The room was clean and looked new, but it had no windows, daylight, or natural view. I found it really depressing, like a prison. I’d booked a room listed as having a city view, but all I saw were walls, like a jail cell.

The breakfast was okay, and most of the staff were lovely, though the receptionist was rude. We spent four nights here. The road was very noisy, and the air conditioner leaked on most nights. On our first night, bathroom tiles fell from beside the sink onto my toe, leaving it painful and swollen. My partner told reception, and the response was just “oh.” Nobody cleared the tiles until the next day, and we never got an apology.
