I spent one night at Leelawalai and won’t be coming back. The staff were nice, but that was the only good part. The room smelled like it had been shut up without fresh air for 20 years. I opened the sliding door at the back, but the odor never cleared. I couldn’t accept sleeping in those conditions. The water pressure was very low, and the shower kept switching between temperatures, which made it frustrating to use. The water looked brownish, too. There were also several cockroaches in the room. A very disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The room was big and clean, with a comfortable bed, but I had a hard time sleeping because of constant noise from the ceiling aircon. You could also hear noise from other rooms. There was no one at reception when I arrived. The TV only had Thai channels, and the room had just two bottles of water, no coffee-making setup. Not recommended for light sleepers.

I’m here right now, and what a great oasis. The room is huge, the pools and bathrooms are great, and the rate is very affordable. It’s a bit isolated, so you’ll need a bike or car, but that small inconvenience is worth it. I’ve stayed in many places, and this has been the best value for the baht. Highly recommend it.

The rooms are large, but this is a very old, dated place. It was probably at its best 30 years ago. The online photos make it look better than it really is.

A lovely, quiet hotel, with beautiful Plumeria trees all around. It’s a bit outside the main town, but miles better than the major grand.
