Soi 5 Apartment

It's conveniently just down the road from beach street, and you get what you pay for. The rooms could be cleaner and better looked after, though. The walls are covered in silverfish. There's no iron either. I asked the receptionist and she said they don't have one, so make arrangements if you'll need to iron something.

We got there at 4:30pm on Jan 22, but they were still cleaning our room because the previous guest had extended their stay. That wasn't our fault. They took a 200 baht deposit, which we couldn't get back because reception isn't open 24 hours. I called and messaged, with no answer. They don't explain their hours to guests. We only noticed the reminders on the windows later, but when you're just trying to rest, who thinks to read those? My husband said we'd sleep and check out early the next morning, but the woman didn't mention the office would be open by 8am. Poor customer service.

The location is the only good part. Everything else was a disaster, especially the staff. They cleaned the room just once every three days, and the bed linen wasn't changed for five days. Horrible. This was the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in.

This is my second stay, and I would definitely come back. I first had a room with twin beds, then moved after three days to one on the same floor with a large queen bed. Both rooms were alike, clean, and had balconies. I washed clothes in the bathroom and hung them outside every day, where they dried fast in the hot weather. The area is handy, beside beach road, with night markets and Soi 5 just one street over. I could stay out late and walk back quickly. The room had two free bottles of water, soap, shampoo, towels, a fridge, TV, and tea bags. Hot water was available around the clock, which was very nice. Reception isn't open 24 hours, but that wasn't a problem for me. Thanks!
